Say the word Akihabara and most people conjure an image of the
famous (or infamous) "Electric Town" of the 80s and
90s. Few realize the incredible transformation underway in one
of Japan's most vibrant locales. By 2007, a succession of high-rise
buildings being constructed in the area will come on-line around
Akihabara station completing a savvy swath of class in the already
"electric" conclave. Dubbed Tokyo's "Silicon Valley,
Akihabara is attracting IT firms at an increasing rate. In quick
