HRMA Human Resources Members Association
HRMA builds global professionals with unique professional training programs that help Japanese business people increase their confidence and capability for greater success on the international stage.
HRM Association is a group of influential people who aim to make a better more harmonious world with a focus on Asia. I met Keiji Yumiyama, Chairman of HRM Association, by chance in October 2011. He was putting together a new training course to develop global leadership within Japanese companies. Everything he said resonated honesty, dedication and focus. I immediately requested that HRM Association allow me to be a partner so I could support this effort. I feel Japan is at the cusp of great change in terms of internationalization and with each company visit I attend with Yumiyama-san, I witness these change-makers first hand. There are some extremely interesting and vibrant executives here in Japan and I am surprised at how many of them respect, know and very deeply like Yumiyama-san and all the effort he is making for a more global Japan. I will make an effort here to introduce some of the amazing companies I have the honor to meet through HRM Association.

Omotenashi TV (part of the Zeroin Group)
President Daijo and his TV team at Zero-in are spurring movement toward a more approachable Japan, from the most basic elements up. Food, drinks, relaxation, and fun are are the most translatable concepts between differing cultures, and Japan has no shortage of these.
This is where Omotenashi TV comes into play. Japan can be very difficult to approach for many reasons not just limited to language barriers. Japanese people can be shy, or perhaps even a bit intimidated by foreign visitors. On the flip side, foreign visitors may interpret this as hostility and just plain unfriendly. However, there simply needs to be a medium, an icebreaker so to say. Location, environment, and perhaps a topic. These things together with the clear goal of cultural interaction and communication and set the stage for some good "omotenashi" (literally “hospitality). Simply put, Japanese people have a lot to teach and share, even though some might be shy from time to time, they would be more than happy to have you along for the ride.
